Toys to Pass Time on a Trip

We usually drive to Disney instead of fly. We like to drive because I think it is some good time with the family, and because we save a bunch of money.

But a 16-hour drive means we need some fun things for the kids to do on the way down and back.  My wife and I have gotten the items down to a science so we know what to take with us and about when it is time to give them the next activity.

Coloring is always a good thing, and for that we recommend Crayola Disney Princess Markers and Activity Book.  This is usually good for at least an hour at a time, and for several hours through the course of the trip.  There is plenty to do, and the kids never seem to get tired of coloring.

I was skeptical of the VTech Disney Princess Learn and Go--we have an iPad....would the kids really want to use this?  The answer is yes.  With a bunch of great activities and the recurring Disney Princess theme, my girls always enjoy pulling this out.

Reading is another great activity, and the girls love the Disney Princess Reader Box Sets.  There are different levels of them, depending on their proficiency, and the stories are timeless.

So there you go--for under $30, you can get a great collection of things for the kids to do on the way down to Disney, or anywhere really.  It's a great way to save money, but I enjoy that we are making memories on the trip that will last forever.

Pretty Pretty Princess Game - Cinderella Edition

This is one of my daughters favorite games. They can play this for hours and their friends always want to play too! They get to decorate the crown themselves when they first get the game and then can use the jewelry for dress up as well as for the game. It has been one of our most used board games in the house and many times taken to a friends house for play dates. Well worth the money and has held up very well to many, many uses. Have fun and be a pretty pretty princess!

Disney Princess Girls 16-Inch Bike by Huffy

My daughter loves this bike! And so do I! The quality is wonderful and the training wheels are very sturdy. And my dughter has really been putting it to the test...there hasn't been a day this summer she wasn't out riding this bike. Even with taking some falls the bike has held up great! I think it will make it as a hand me down to our younger daughter just fine!

Disney Princess Ariel Little Mermaid Magical Talking Salon & Vanity

Disney Princess Ariel Little Mermaid Magical Talking Salon & Vanity

Our five year old absolutely loves this talking salon and vanity. We got it for her for her birthday--she has had it for a few weeks now. I cannot believe how much time she spends in front of it. Her little sister (3 years old) enjoys it so much too my wife and I are thinking we may need to get a second one!

Check out the reviews on Amazon. It was highly recommended, and we have nothing but good things to say about it!
