Toys to Pass Time on a Trip

We usually drive to Disney instead of fly. We like to drive because I think it is some good time with the family, and because we save a bunch of money.

But a 16-hour drive means we need some fun things for the kids to do on the way down and back.  My wife and I have gotten the items down to a science so we know what to take with us and about when it is time to give them the next activity.

Coloring is always a good thing, and for that we recommend Crayola Disney Princess Markers and Activity Book.  This is usually good for at least an hour at a time, and for several hours through the course of the trip.  There is plenty to do, and the kids never seem to get tired of coloring.

I was skeptical of the VTech Disney Princess Learn and Go--we have an iPad....would the kids really want to use this?  The answer is yes.  With a bunch of great activities and the recurring Disney Princess theme, my girls always enjoy pulling this out.

Reading is another great activity, and the girls love the Disney Princess Reader Box Sets.  There are different levels of them, depending on their proficiency, and the stories are timeless.

So there you go--for under $30, you can get a great collection of things for the kids to do on the way down to Disney, or anywhere really.  It's a great way to save money, but I enjoy that we are making memories on the trip that will last forever.
